Bio & Background
I'm Nicky Pasquier and I'm the Owner / Founder of Virtuoso Assistant.
Since you don't know anything about me, you might like to read about my background and work experience.
Having graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA in English Literature, I enjoyed life in London for six years. However, following an early Spring break in Bath Spa in 1997 I decided I'd like to live there. Two weeks later I living there! I stayed in Bath / Bristol for a further wonderful seven years.
During this time I worked as a 'temp' at various law firms and gradually worked my way up to senior legal PA in Civil Litigation.
February 2013 was a defining moment in my life, however. The recession was biting and I lost two jobs in two years. I was at rock bottom. As I sat on the sofa one dismal evening I experienced one of those 'lightbulb moments' people sometimes talk about. Thanks to the huge changes in digital technology I realised I could earn a living working from home as a legal transcriber. This I did for six months, after which I paid for a website to be built and published in September 2013.
The rest, you might say, is history.
A few years down the line I'm incredibly proud to have been profiled by Small Business Saturday UK in 2014 as a #SmallBiz100, resulting in a reception at Downing Street that December. I've continued to support the Small Business Saturday UK campaign as Regional Champion in Wiltshire.
NEW TEAM MEMBER
I'm delighted to introduce my new team member, Pamela Wood, who will be working with me as an Associate Virtual Assistant. Pamela and I have known each other for nearly 20 years and worked together at Bristol law firm, Veale Wasbrough Vizards.
Here what Pamela says about herself,
"I grew up on the beautiful Island of Anglesey. Then I left to travel far and wide before settling in Bristol to become a secretary, a wife and a mother. Many happy years later and I now live in sunny Devon where I ran my own toyshop for a while.
I spend my spare time in my sewing room making home furnishings to sell at craft fairs.
One of my great loves is typing, however: I might be a bit over-particular about it at times! I love typing up forms, lists, creating posters or spending time ensuring that pages and pages of a long legal statement finish neatly on the same line on each page. Very satisfying!"
