Bio & Background
I'm Nicky Pasquier and I'm the Owner / Founder of Virtuoso Assistant.
Since you don't know anything about me, you might like to know a little bit about my background and work experience.
After graduating from the University of Exeter with a BA in English Literature, I worked for a few years in London as a sales associate at Liberty of London and Ralph Lauren.
Realising this wasn't going to pay many bills, I attended evening classes to give myself a background in law, enrolled at secretarial school in Kensington before hot-footing it over to Bath and Bristol, where I lived for 10 years.
I worked for 16 years as a legal PA/Paralegal in Civil Litigation until I had one of those 'lightbulb moments' people talk about in February 2013.
As the workplace was starting to embrace digital technology, I realised I could make a living working from home as a legal transcriber. This I did for 6 months before launching my own business, Virtuoso Assistant in September 2013.
Having no prior business experience it was a steep learning curve but I was given my first big break in August 2014. I was selected as one of 100 small businesses profiled by Small Business Saturday UK, which resulted in a trip to No.10 Downing Street that December. It was a proud and slightly surreal moment for us all!
Since then I've supported the Small Business Saturday UK movement as a Small Business Regional Champion in 2015 and 2016.
